Julia H. Sear

Julia is an experienced trial advocate, criminal defense attorney and civil litigator. Her practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, government investigations and enforcement matters, False Claims Act litigation, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation.

Julia is skilled at guiding clients through high-stakes investigations and in-court criminal cases at both the federal and state levels. She conducts internal investigations for large multinational companies, interviews witnesses and employees, drafts investigatory findings, and manages large document and data cases. Julia also handles complex civil cases with particular experience in commercial disputes, intellectual property, antitrust, and real estate matters.

In both criminal and civil litigation, Julia is a talented and experienced trial lawyer. Prior to moving to private practice, Julia served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office where she honed her trial and investigation skills. As a prosecutor, she tried seven criminal cases to verdict, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and an attempted murder trial. She also conducted scores of grand jury investigations in a wide range of felony matters and has appeared in court hundreds of times.

Prior to joining AEL, Julia worked at a prominent, nationally-recognized law firm. Julia is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and Occidental College.
